Coby:
I started off a couple of years ago with the purchase of an acoustic guitar and a “Guitar for Dummies” book. I read through the book and learned the basic chords, but soon I got bored with the whole thing. I knew that I really wanted to get decent at the guitar and determined that maybe the best way would be to purchase an electric guitar and get some lessons. I purchased a new guitar at Guitar Center and the guy working there said that he knew of a really good guitar instructor. Since I was interested in getting lessons anyways, I decided to give Chris a call.
I knew after the first lesson that this was going to work out fine for a few reasons. First, Chris is really, really good at the playing the guitar. That is a must for a guitar teacher, I imagine. Secondly, He has a way of making the lessons fun as well as informative. I’ve now been taking lessons from Chris for about 10 months and not only have I improved dramatically, I also haven’t lost interest in playing. I credit this to Chris’ teaching style.
Andres:
Yo I'm Andres, I've been a student of Chris's for about 3-4 years, and let me tell you....best teacher ever. Not only is there an unlimited supply of songs he knows, he can conquer any style and teach you how in the weekly lessons you come by for. You will not be disappointed. One thing i love about Chris is he never gets frustrated at beginners or if you're trying to master a new riff he writes out for you, along with motivational support and new techniques to help you master your guitar. Chris is the best guitar player i know :-) and if your looking to find tabs for the never ending amount of songs you like, or trying to master a certain style of guitar he'll definitely help you master your guitar playing abilities. I'm very glad he was suggested at guitar center, he is a great teacher and he also understands what its like to be young and have fun. I HIGHLY recommend him as a teacher and all in all i love going to practice =).
Dempsey:
Hi, My name is Dempsey and I’m 14. I’ve Been going to Chris for around 3 years, and he has taken me to a level I thought near impossible when i first picked up a guitar. His style of teaching is totally unique, and definitely encourages you to practice, which is really the key to getting good. He’ll pretty much teach you anything you would ever want to know, and i wouldn’t be half as good without him.
Kristin:
I’m 15 and have been taking lessons from Mr. Santos for nearly two years with my younger brother Joe. From the first lesson, Mr. Santos has been a fantastic teacher. He always encourages us and is eager to help when I don’t understand something. Even with just a half hour every week, i have improved tremendously in the short time I’ve had in lessons.
His method of teaching is insane (In a good way). Each lesson we go over a little bit of theory then spend the rest of the time learning songs. He allows me to bring in my i-pod every week and, by ear, he tabs it out for me to play.
Mr. Santos is, in my opinion, the greatest guitar (or even music) teacher in the world.
Max:
Hey, my name’s Max and I’m 16. I had been playing guitar for six years before I met Chris. From previous experience, I knew enough about rhythm, key signatures, timing, etc. In the past year, Chris has taken my playing to the next level. I’ve learned a more intricate lead guitar playing style, music theory, and help with songwriting. I really enjoy taking lessons from Chris; he’s very easy to work with and makes learning enjoyable. He also encouraged me to put some videos up on You Tube - Couldn’t have done it without him! Check out my video

Capri:
My name is Capri, I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Chris for a little over 1 year. He explains everything very simply and easy to understand. When I first heard, ‘Music theory’ I thought it was going to be complicated, but once it was explained I totally got it. He’s not boring when he teaches me, which makes it easier for me to have more fun when I play It’s in a very relaxed environment, which also helps, and has a nice feel to it This is definitely the only place I’d ever go to learn!
Luka:
Hi, I’m Luca and I’m 16. I play guitar, bass, and drums and have been going to Chris for over 3 years. Really awesome guy! Hands down the best place to go for lessons. I’ve also gotten help with choosing instruments, pedals, tabs, and basically anything music related. It’s hard to summarize how awesome these 3 years have been.
Dean:
In my opinion Chris is Arizona’s best kept secret, he is a world class player and a truly gifted teacher. I am 51 years old and in 2004 I suffered an illness that left me with permanent brain damage affecting my memory abilities and Chris has been so understanding and encouraging, now I am able to really enjoy my playing and most important I see improvement each and every week. Chris is much more than a guitar teacher, he is a true gift to Arizona's musicians. If you are looking to learn the guitar or improve the abilities you already have I promise you will feel just as honored as i do to learn from one of the best!
Lindsey:
My name is Lindsey, I am 12 years old and I have been taking guitar lessons from Chris for 2-1/2 years. He teaches me in a way that keeps me totally interested and every week I really look forward to my lessons. Every time I ask Chris to teach me how to play a song he only has to listen to it once before he shows me. Chris is awesome!
Alex:
Hi, my name is Alex and i have been taking lessons from Chris for several months. Chris has taught me so much in the short time I have been taking lessons from him. He is a fantastic guy, and hasn’t ever let me down on a song or riff request to learn. He listens to everything you say, and will teach anything you want him to teach you. He goes into detail with what you want to learn to help build understanding in what you are playing, and hearing to develop musical skills that will stay with you for life. I love to play guitar, and Chris has opened my mind to new music, newly gained confidence to play, and a new fascination with the “Music Theory”. I recommend Chris to any person who wants to, loves to, or hopes to play guitar, or bass at a point in their life.
Harrison:
Hi, my name is Harrison and I’m 14. I’ve been taking lessons from Chris for almost a year now. My dad took me as far as he could with his guitar playing abilities but I wanted more. The more he taught me, the more I wanted to learn. He just didn’t have anything else he could teach me. And then he found Chris. Chris is an awesome teacher. He’s shown me so much in the time we’ve had together. And my playing has improved so much. Not only has he taught me lots of songs, but he’s also taught me lots of techniques and theory. The subject “Music Theory” sounds so complicated, but it’s not! It helps you write your own stuff - something I love to do. Chris will be my teacher until my dream is fulfilled.
Joe:
Before I say anything, you have to know that this is the best place to learn how to play guitar. My name is Joe, I play bass, and I’m 13. Almost 2 years ago, I came to Chris’ house with my sister and didn’t know anything about guitar or bass. By that mid-lesson, I already knew a song and most of the basic fundamentals of a bass. The way Chris teaches guitar is extravagant. Instead of doing flash cards and boring things the whole lesson, he teaches songs you want to know how to play and gives you great riffs that relate to theory. Also, he can listen to a song and easily transpose it into a guitar tab. Sometimes he can even turn a keyboard solo into an amazing guitar or bass solo. I would recommend Chris to anyone at any level of guitar (or bass). If you want to have fun and get better on the bass or guitar, this is the place for you…
